Welcome to CityU Student Residence (SR), housing up to 6,000 student residents from 70 countries at two residential compounds situated in Kowloon Tong (11 halls) and Ma On Shan (6 halls) of Hong Kong.

Within each hall premises, the Residence Master (RM) is the figurehead overseeing the operation of the hall. He/she provides pastoral care to student residents with the assistance of his/her Hall Management Team (HMT), ensures its orderly operation as well as engages student residents in initiating and launching a wide variety of Resident-led Activities (RLA) to expedite students’ adjustment to university life and bonding of friendship with a shared goal (say via city-orienteering and community engagement initiatives).

Supplementing the RLA in respective halls, the Student Residence Office (SRO) orchestras and manages large-scale ResLife programmes engaging all halls such as Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and a series of Inter-hall Fun Day events. We believe in this matrix of ResLife events and hall activities, any resident can easily identify something fit at his own choice and make his contributions.

Location-wise, both Kowloon Tong and Ma On Shan compounds have their edges, with the former having been in operation for over 2 decades is within campus and connected with Festival Walk (a shopping mall) in walking distance, while the latter is a brand-new one built by cutting-edge Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) mode with a full-fledged indoor sports hall and two gorgeous beaches nearby in the maturely developed local community by daily commuting via the well-acclaimed Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system.
