Academic Regulations Effective from Semester A 2014/2015
Dear All ACE Undergraduate Degree students,
Following the University Announcement "Revisions to the University Assessment Policy and Academic Regulations on Mitigation and Academic Reviews" made on 18 June 2014, we would like to remind you also to note the changes in Academic Regulations with effect from Semester A 2014/2015.
We would like to draw your special attention to the changes in Academic Regulations related to Termination of Study (clause AR13 for 4-year Undergraduate Degrees; clause AR15 for 3-year Undergraduate Degrees).
Student should note that starting from Semester A 2014/15:
1. The Examination Board may terminate the study of a student under the following circumstances:
(i) the student's SGPA is below 1.00 for two consecutive semesters; or
(ii) the student's academic progress is unsatisfactory and is unable to meet the conditions stipulated by the home academic unit after being put on Academic Probation for two consecutive semesters.
2. The current provision of one additional course repeat for each failed course to recover failure after Academic Suspension will be removed. Students' studies will be terminated if they fail to pass a required course, or its equivalent/substitute course, after three attempts.
Should you have any enquiry, you are welcome to contact your Programme Leader or ACE General Office (tel: 3442 7609 or email: [email protected]).
