Updating of "Information on a Course" (Form 2Bs)
Dear students (undergraduate / taught postgraduate / research),
Please be informed that CA Department is undergoing a review on the assessment pattern and other course content on all courses offered by us. The main changes are as listed below:
1. Most of the CA / BC courses are changed to an assessment pattern of 50% coursework and 50% examination, and thus examination duration in some courses may be adjusted.
2. A mid-term test / quiz (or similar format of assessment) will be added to the coursework assessment.
3. The departmental requirement of "A student must get a pass, in equivalence, a D / P grade or above, in both the coursework and the examination before he / she is considered getting an overall pass in the course." is removed from the assessment requirement for all courses under CA course codes at B2, B3, B4, P5, P6 and R8 levels (i.e. courses with course codes CA2xxx, CA3xxx, CA4xxx, CA5xxx, CA6xxx, CA8xxx, CA8xxxM respectively).
4. However, the departmental requirement as stated in point 3 above still applies to courses under BC course codes (i.e. courses with course codes BC2xxx, BC3xxx, BC4xxx).
CA Department is updating the departmental course database. Meanwhile, the course information will be suspended from access from CA website for a short period. The "Information on a Course" (Form 2Bs) that you can currently download from AIMS, ARRO's or SGS's website are for reference and subject to changes including but not limited to the points above-mentioned.
The latest "Information on a Course" (Form 2Bs) will be available on or before the commencement of Semester A 2013/2014. Course Leaders will also provide you with the latest course information in their first lesson, or via Blackboard or other forms of communication.
Should you have any enquiry, you are welcome to contact the Course Leaders concerned or CA General Office (tel: 3442 7609 or email: [email protected]).
