Alumni Sharing in Master's Student Orientation 2024 organised by SGS (31 August)
Alumni Mr Jason Chen (陳雋) and Prof Henry Ko (高學(xué)亨) delivered inspiring talks to new master’s students at the Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies orientation session on 31 August 2024, attended by approximately a thousand students.
Jason Chen, a graduate of the Master of Business Administration programme, is the founder and CEO of Wada FoodTech. His educational journey at CityUHK, combined with the support from his professors, paved the way for his startup, which uses innovative hot-chain technology to address the common "lunch problem" faced by busy office workers. The company has been featured in the “Forbes Asia 100 to Watch” and has received backing from the HK Tech 300 Angel Fund. Offering advice to the new cohort, Jason emphasised the importance of leveraging the wisdom of professors and peers, the abundant resources provided by CityUHK, and ultimately, the passion and inner drive to pursue one's dreams.
Prof Henry Ko completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at CityUHK, earning a Juris Doctor, a Master of Business Administration (Executive), and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Quantitative Analysis for Business. He is currently the Vice President, Corporate Development APAC and Chairman of Greater China at Flexport and serves as an Adjunct Professor at the College of Business. His lifelong learning journey at CityUHK is closely intertwined with his career achievements. His advice to new students is to never stop learning and to cherish the knowledge and friendship gained at the University.
