Dr Andrew Fan Meets Awardees at the FANs Awards Reception 2024

On 22 October 2024, the Alumni Relations Office hosted the “FANs Awards Reception” at Eminence Galaxy, honouring Dr Andrew Fan, Founder of the “FANs Awards Scheme”, and its awardees. Dr Fan was joined by Ms Kathy Chan, Associate Vice-President (Development and Alumni Relations); Ms Grace Liang, Director of Alumni Relations Office; and Ms Pheony Tsang, Associate Director of Alumni Relations Office, who welcomed participants at the event.
Dr Fan, a Court Member, Honorary Fellow and Distinguished Alumnus of the University, is a valued supporter of CityUHK. He launched the “FANs Awards Scheme” in 2007 to nurture future leaders at CityUHK. Over the past seventeen years, more than 300 outstanding students have received the awards. In the welcome remarks, Ms Kathy Chan highlighted Dr Fan’s virtues and his deep connection with CityUHK. Ms Grace Liang also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr Fan for his enduring contributions to the University.
During the reception, Dr Fan engaged in an interactive exchange with some 30 current and past award recipients. He encouraged them to explore new possibilities in their studies and careers. The awardees shared their insights on career planning and development, expressing their appreciation for Dr Fan’s care and ongoing support.
