Farming is Caring: Donating Fresh Organic Vegetables to Pei Ho Counterparts (24 January)
The Convocation of CityUHK invited alumni participants of its organic farming programme to harvest fresh organic vegetables at the green zones of the Roof Garden located at the Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin Academic Building on 24 January.
Supported by the participants and members of GROW project, a cross-disciplinary project which introduces Permaculture to CityUHK, the featured event has become more meaningful for the organic farming programme as part of the harvested vegetables were donated to Pei Ho Counterparts, a well-known social enterprise in Shum Shui Po, CityUHK’s neighbourhood, for their preparation of meals for the underprivileged communities in Hong Kong.
Through their hard work, the CityUHK farming community successfully donated 80 pounds of fresh organic vegetables, contributing positively to the local community.
