CityUHK Shanghai Alumni Chapter Corporate Visit to Beijing Tiantai Law Firm (8 March)
On 8 March 2025, the CityUHK Shanghai Alumni Chapter successfully organized a corporate visit to the Shanghai branch of Beijing Tiantai Law Firm, featuring a special seminar on marriage and family law. The event attracted active participation from numerous alumni, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.
The event was hosted by Dr. Jia Zongda, Vice Chairman of the CityUHK Shanghai Alumni Chapter. Mr. Nie Weiguo, Chairman of the CityUHK Shanghai Alumni Chapter, delivered the opening remarks. Subsequently, Mr. Gong Weiliang, Managing Director and Senior Partner at the Shanghai branch of Beijing Tiantai Law Firm, took the stage as the keynote speaker. He presented a comprehensive analysis of the impact of the "Interpretation (II) of the Supreme People's Court on the Application of the 'Marriage and Family” (《婚姻家庭編司法解釋二》) on family law cases, emphasizing key provisions through practical case studies. Ms. Wang Jieying, Partner at the Shanghai branch of Beijing Tiantai Law Firm, also shared the protection of women's rights in romantic relationships within the judicial framework. Focusing on women's rights, she examined how to better safeguard their interests under the legal provisions of marriage and family law, referencing the latest judicial interpretations.
