The Department of Media and Communication (COM) hosted a lab visit during CityUHK Alumni Homecoming Day last Saturday (2 November), along with a special screening of the award-winning documentary Ani Bond: Choying Drolma 「次第花開」 directed by our own COM faculty member, Professor Lin Fen. The event attracted over 150 CityUHK alumni who had the opportunity to experience real operation in both digital media and production.
In the morning session, all alumni guests were guided through our state-of-the-art professional facilities, allowing participants to explore the omnimedia digital newsroom, advertising design studio, and 3D virtual TV studio. They also had the chance to role-play as anchor, presenting current local news and weather reports in-front of the camera, and took the opportunity to take some photos.
The documentary Ani Bond: Choying Drolma, directed by Professor Lin Fen in collaboration with Ms. Shan Bai, has received numerous accolades, including recognition at the 39th Warsaw International Film Festival, the 13th China Academy Awards for Documentary Film, and as the Opening Film at the 7th Nepal International Film Festival.
” We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to showcase our work to CityUHK alumni,” said Prof. LIN Fen, Associate Professor of the Department of Media and Communication. The special screening concluded with a fireside chat with the director.
The Alumni Homecoming Day successfully brought together graduates from across the globe, allowing them to reconnect with their alma mater and gain insight into the exciting future of media and communication at CityUHK.
