COM Research Seminar - Young Scholars Program 2024-2025

On March 24, 2025, six scholars from Ningbo University, Chongqing University, Hainan University, Lanzhou University, Heilongjiang University, and Wuhan University presented their latest research at a seminar held by the Department of Media and Communication at the City University of Hong Kong.
Dr. He Kang from Ningbo University discussed his study on information synchronization across multi-terminal and multi-application environments. Dr. Huang Hebo from Chongqing University examined the imaginative possibilities and reflections of MCN agencies and live-streaming platforms. Dr. Jiang Rui from Hainan University explored the analysis of short video content, focusing on data sources and encoding. Dr. Qin Dongxue from Lanzhou University presented her findings on the mechanisms of identity transformation and generation in Chinese discourse under PHEIC contexts. Dr. Zhang Haichao from Heilongjiang University analyzed the production of audiovisual texts, emphasizing the interplay between sound and visual interpretation. Finally, Dr. Zhou Chengsi from Wuhan University discussed the framing of risks and legitimacy in the global rise of Chinese electric vehicle brands. The seminar attracted approximately 20 faculty members and PhD students who engaged actively and contributed to a thought-provoking discussion.
