Dr. Mengmeng Zhao is a strategic communication educator and practitioner with over 15 years of experience specializing in corporate branding, crisis communication, and ESG initiatives. As a part-time lecturer at CityUHK’s Department of Media and Communication, she teaches Crisis Communication and Management (COM5403), while also teaching Applied Communication Research and Public Relations and Globalization at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Her professional background includes serving as Research Director at Strategic Public Relations Group, Hong Kong’s largest PR consulting group. Prior to this role, she provided strategic consulting at Burson-Marsteller (now Burson), where she specialized in brand enhancement and crisis mitigation. Dr. Zhao also maintains a significant presence in media translation, collaborating with The New York Times and Bloomberg BusinessWeek for over 13 years. Her translation portfolio includes seven bestsellers in branding and management, notably Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.
Dr. Zhao holds a PhD in Communication and a Master’s in Global Communication from CUHK, complemented by dual Bachelor’s degrees in English Language & Literature and Broadcasting & Hosting from The Communication University of China. Her influence extends to social media, where she engages a community of 100,000+ followers across platforms.
