The College of Science and the College of Engineering were honoured to receive the delegation of Chang’e 4 Lunar Mission from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the China National Space Administration on 23 October 2019. The visit successfully connected national scientists and researchers in the university, creating solid ground for future collaboration in different technological areas.
Professor Raymond Chan, Dean of College of Science, led a delegation visit to the Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital on 14 October 2019 and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the hospital to facilitate academic exchanges and research collaborations.
Organized by the College of Science, the first Science Summer Camp came to successful completion in July 2019. As a new initiative of the College, the Science Summer Camp is a 5-day programme with an aim to bringing together outstanding prospective PhD candidates who plan to embark on PhD studies in science and related disciplines.
Research into neutron scattering in Hong Kong will benefit with the opening on 27 February of a joint laboratory co-established by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and the Institute of High Energy Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
Hong Kong’s scientific community must engage and leverage opportunities to propel itself to the forefront of developments in neutron scattering, according to Professor Xunli Wang, Head and Chair Professor of Department of Physics at City University of Hong Kong (CityU).
