Students from Newman Catholic College visited the College of Science on 26 November to get familiarise themselves with the University and were warmly greeted by faculty and staff members from the College, the Office of the Provost and the Admissions Office.
In collaboration with Tseung Kwan O Government Secondary School (TKOGSS), 10 students from the College of Science served as ‘student teachers’ and gained hands-on teaching experience in a real classroom setting on 12 October 2022.
Co-organized by the Provost Office and the College of Science, the CityU Science Patent Challenge 2022 has received positive responses from 24 secondary schools. More than 30 secondary school teachers and students from these schools attended an entrepreneurship and intellectual property workshop of the CityU Science Patent Challenge on 8 October 2022.
As part of the College’s Popular Science Talks series, Professor Daniel Ho, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Education) and Dr Lam Yun Wah, Programme Leader of Global Research Enrichment and Technopreneurship (GREAT), delivered two interesting talks for the Queen’s College on 26 May and 7 June 2022 respectively, attracting more than 120 Form 5 students.
The College of Science has launched its CityU STEM Series, a video series with fruitful Science content about Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Each video is guided by a CityU scientist with content suitable for students of secondary schools.
The College of Science gave away more than 7,000 bottles of alcohol-based sanitizers to 60 secondary schools in Sham Shui Po and Kowloon City, aiming to contribute to anti-virus measures in the neighbourhood.121200
