<p>而在地球的另一端，四年級(jí)學(xué)生<strong>何璟言</strong>在劍橋大學(xué)參與研究實(shí)習(xí)，探索材料在低溫、高壓和磁場(chǎng)等不同條件下的特性，夢(mèng)想成為一名物理學(xué)研究員。</p> <p>環(huán)球精研與科創(chuàng)課程以研究為主導(dǎo)，吸引有志投身科研的學(xué)生報(bào)讀。課程提供海外學(xué)術(shù)交流機(jī)會(huì)，助學(xué)生開(kāi)拓國(guó)際視野，刺激創(chuàng)新思維。在城大的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金資助下，曦琳和璟言已分別在全球兩所頂尖大學(xué)展開(kāi)他們的學(xué)術(shù)與研究之旅。</p> <p>曦琳熱愛(ài)數(shù)學(xué)和編程，是城大Google學(xué)生開(kāi)發(fā)者社群領(lǐng)袖，並在校內(nèi)的水底機(jī)械人團(tuán)隊(duì)擔(dān)任電腦工程師。在初創(chuàng)生態(tài)蓬勃的美國(guó)加州，她把握機(jī)會(huì)，不時(shí)參與程式設(shè)計(jì)馬拉松，以開(kāi)發(fā)創(chuàng)新解決方案為樂(lè)。她亦藉此機(jī)會(huì)，結(jié)交來(lái)自美國(guó)、墨西哥、杜拜、意大利及印度等地的朋友，相互交流，認(rèn)識(shí)各地文化。她說(shuō)：「加州大學(xué)柏克萊分校是美國(guó)最多元化的大學(xué)之一。那裡的教學(xué)質(zhì)素和學(xué)生都十分出色，我每天都會(huì)和大家討論並解決線性代數(shù)問(wèn)題。」</p> <p>曦琳在城大入學(xué)第一年，已廣泛涉獵數(shù)學(xué)、統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)、編程、數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)、生物學(xué)及神經(jīng)科學(xué)等學(xué)科。她說(shuō)，多元化的一年級(jí)數(shù)理基礎(chǔ)課程有助她確立研究志向，因此在升讀二年級(jí)時(shí)選擇專(zhuān)攻數(shù)學(xué)，其導(dǎo)師為城大數(shù)學(xué)系<strong>羅永昌教授</strong>。她希望可以在新學(xué)年累積更多研究經(jīng)驗(yàn)，擴(kuò)闊自己的學(xué)術(shù)網(wǎng)絡(luò)，並成為數(shù)學(xué)或計(jì)算生物學(xué)的研究員，在醫(yī)療方面提供創(chuàng)新方案，尤其是解決香港十分常見(jiàn)的濕疹治療問(wèn)題。</p> <p>璟言已在劍橋大學(xué)完成半年的交流之旅。在英國(guó)，他沉浸在濃厚的歷史和文化中，亦積極參與劍橋大學(xué)的研究項(xiàng)目，裝備自己成為一名物理學(xué)研究員。他說(shuō)：「我對(duì)物理學(xué)的濃厚興趣，在城大得到極大發(fā)展，希望能夠以此為基礎(chǔ)，建構(gòu)未來(lái)。」</p> <p>在實(shí)習(xí)的過(guò)程中，思語(yǔ)體會(huì)到牛津大學(xué)給予學(xué)生充分的學(xué)術(shù)自由度，鼓勵(lì)他們發(fā)展個(gè)人研究興趣。思語(yǔ)說(shuō)：「實(shí)習(xí)開(kāi)始前，Lyons教授和Cartis教授先了解我感興趣的範(fàn)疇，給予清晰的方向，再分配適合我的研究項(xiàng)目。每次和兩位教授交流，都令我有所啟發(fā)，讓我更有信心向我感興趣的研究方向發(fā)展。」</p> <p>在牛津大學(xué)的實(shí)習(xí)經(jīng)歷有助思語(yǔ)規(guī)劃未來(lái)發(fā)展。她希望在取得學(xué)士學(xué)位後修讀碩士課程，研究大型語(yǔ)言模型、機(jī)器學(xué)習(xí)和數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)等領(lǐng)域。回想剛?cè)雽W(xué)的時(shí)候，思語(yǔ)表示當(dāng)時(shí)並未有清晰的發(fā)展方向，但她認(rèn)為城大的學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)歷培養(yǎng)了她對(duì)數(shù)據(jù)工程、機(jī)器學(xué)習(xí)和人工智能的學(xué)術(shù)興趣，啟發(fā)創(chuàng)新思維。她特別提到，電子計(jì)算機(jī)及數(shù)據(jù)工程學(xué)課程理論與實(shí)踐並重，涵蓋硬件和軟件方面的知識(shí)，包括電機(jī)工程理論、計(jì)算機(jī)系統(tǒng)和晶片設(shè)計(jì)等硬件內(nèi)容，以及算法、統(tǒng)計(jì)、機(jī)器學(xué)習(xí)、雲(yún)端計(jì)算和網(wǎng)絡(luò)安全等軟件方面的內(nèi)容。思語(yǔ)說(shuō)：「教授在課堂上引導(dǎo)我們對(duì)課題作深入思考，著重培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的分析和創(chuàng)新能力，訓(xùn)練我們『think <p>香港城市大學(xué)（城大）與劍橋大學(xué)露西．卡文迪許學(xué)院在香港推出首個(gè)大學(xué)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金計(jì)劃，為期五年，旨在吸引城大及全球頂尖碩士生，前往劍橋大學(xué)修讀碩士課程。</p> <p>與此同時(shí)，城大成為露西．卡文迪許學(xué)院「未來(lái)全球領(lǐng)袖計(jì)劃」的全球首間國(guó)際夥伴院校，將為參與計(jì)劃的學(xué)生提供全球迫切危機(jī)的可持續(xù)發(fā)展方案培訓(xùn)。</p> <p>獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金計(jì)劃將每年資助最多20名學(xué)生前往劍橋大學(xué)修讀碩士課程，每年資助總額為1,000萬(wàn)港元（100萬(wàn)英鎊）。每名學(xué)生將獲得全額獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，讓他們?cè)趧虼髮W(xué)修讀一年的全日制碩士課程。在申報(bào)入讀劍橋大學(xué)時(shí)，學(xué)生必須選擇露西．卡文迪許學(xué)院為第一選擇，獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金的截止申請(qǐng)日期為2025年4月30日。</p>
