Despite the advent of automated blood-cell analysers, blood smears still play an important role in the diagnosis of haematological disorders. But, you need a good quality blood smear before you can make a thorough haematological assessment. In the Practical Haematology Workshop, you will learn how to make a good blood smear and how to assess it. Under the guidance of Dr Allan Kessell, you will also learn how to assess blood smears with haematological abnormalities.
