Dr Barbara Padalino (Assistant Professor in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health) was awarded a Best Poster Award at the 15th World Equine Veterinary Association Congress, which took place in Beijing from the 21st to the 23rd of April 2018.
Authors had been invited to submit abstracts of papers summarising original research, novel clinical techniques or unusual case series to be considered for poster presentations. An independent panel judged the posters, taking into account the quality of the science, clarity of the presentation and overall contribution to horse welfare. Four posters were awarded prizes and the authors were invited to present their papers at the podium.
Dr Padalino won the award for her poster entitled “Risks associated with injuries to horses during road transport for amateur and professional activities in New Zealand”.
