Dr Barbara Padalino received the 2018 Animal Welfare Award of the Animal Transport Association (ATA)

1Dr Barbara Padalino (Assistant Professor in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health) was presented with the Animal Welfare Award of the Animal Transportation Association (ATA) at its Annual Award Dinner on 9 April 2018 in Orlando, Florida.

It is awarded by nomination to an ATA member who has worked to enhance animal welfare during her/his career. Dr Padalino received the award for her contribution to animal welfare through her continuous and extended scientific research in equine transportation.

She also gave a presentation at the 44th ATA annual conference with the title ‘The effect of 8-hour road transport on clinical and behavioral parameters in horses’.
