This award recognises the impact and significance of his lifetime contributions to the field of veterinary epidemiology.
Prof. Pfeiffer said that he feels greatly honoured and proud, while recognising that he has benefited tremendously from having been able to work with great people from a wide variety of animal health related contexts, such as farmers, government policy makers, academic and research scientists, but most importantly highly motivated postgraduate students and researchers.
He was also the opening keynote speaker with his presentation ‘Translating epidemiology into evidence and practice’.
Seven staff and students attended the symposium, all actively participating with either oral and/or poster presentations or running a post-conference workshop. In total, the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences was represented in one opening keynote speech, 13 oral and 7 poster presentations.
