Professor Sophie St-Hilaire (Professor of Aquatic Animal Health in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health) was invited to participate in an international OIE (World Organisation for Animal Health) ad hoc group on susceptibility of fish species to infection with OIE listed diseases. The group meeting took place at OIE’s headquarters in Paris from the 2nd to the 4th of May 2018.
Ad hoc groups are convened at the initiative of the OIE Director General and experts are selected based on their experience and scientific excellence.
This five-member committee was composed of epidemiologists, fish biologists, and aquatic animal veterinarians and its output will form the basis of the susceptibility list for international trade in aquaculture.
