Dr Barbara Padalino recently joined the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health as Assistant Professor in Animal Behaviour and Welfare.
Before joining City University of Hong Kong, she was a lecturer in Equine Science at Charles Sturt University (Australia) and a director of her own horse practice, breeding and racing centre in Italy. Since 2004, she has also worked as a researcher in animal science at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bari, Italy.
Her research background is in equine, camel and livestock behaviour and welfare, with a particular interest in transportation of horses and the implications for health and welfare.
She will contribute to the teaching in the new Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and conduct research in the area of animal behaviour and welfare.
