The Department of Mechanical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong is pleased to announce that Prof. Peng Zhang has been selected as a Visiting Fellow at the prestigious Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS), Loughborough University, UK. Prof. Zhang will undertake this fellowship from 22nd to 29th June 2025, engaging in collaborative research and academic exchange as part of the IAS's Open Fellowship Programme.
The IAS annually invites leading international researchers to collaborate with Loughborough's academic community on innovative, interdisciplinary projects. During the visit, Prof. Zhang will work with Dr. Lu Tian and other researchers to advance cutting-edge research in combustion, energy utilization, and fluid mechanics—key areas of Prof. Zhang's expertise. The fellowship will also include opportunities to share their work through seminars, networking events, and a blog post for the IAS.
"I am honored to join Loughborough's dynamic research environment and look forward to exchanging ideas with colleagues," said Prof. Zhang. "This fellowship provides an excellent platform to explore new advancements in sustainable energy and fluid dynamics while strengthening global academic ties."
This visit underscores City University of Hong Kong's commitment to global research collaboration and excellence in mechanical engineering. For more details on Prof. Zhang's work, visit his research group's webpage www.rgcombustion.org.
