City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and Cornell University (Cornell U) will be jointly hosting an International Animal Welfare Symposium from 21 – 22 November 2013 as part of the establishment of a Centre for Animal Welfare.

Animal welfare has become an important issue in Hong Kong and the surrounding region and today’s veterinarians play a major role in ensuring the welfare of animals. It is the aim of CityU to take a leading role in promoting animal welfare by establishing a Centre of Excellence in Animal Welfare within its College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences.

香港城市大學及康奈爾大學將於二零一三年十一月二十一至二十二日合辦國際動物福利論壇，作為建立動物福利中心的一部份。

動物福利經已成為本港及鄰近地區的重要課題，而獸醫在確保動物的福利中，擔當著重要的角色。香港城市大學的目標，是透過獸醫學院而建立一個卓越的動物福利中心，從而在推廣動物福利的過程中，作為一個領導者的角色。
