Systems of nonlinear reaction  diffusion equations with

Abstract: Nonlinear reaction-diffusion models are used to describe many different biological and physical phenomena. In this talk, we consider an important class of models that are characterized by having a continuous family of rest states. We investigate the behavior of traveling wave solutions of such systems and show that a number of surprising features can occur. We apply the methods to a simple model for the spread of viral diseases and show that the survival dynamics of a given virus can be a complicated function of the population density.
