Prof. WU Wei Contributed to China Data Center Cooling Annual Report and Summit Forum

The China Data Center Cooling Summit Forum was successfully held in Shanghai from 1 to 3 April, 2025. Prof. Wu Wei of the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) contributed significantly to this important event, which was hosted by the Chinese Association of Refrigeration, Huawei Digital Energy Technology, and Tencent Cloud. The forum brought together industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to discuss advancements in data center cooling technologies.

A highlight of the opening ceremony was the release of the "China Data Center Cooling Technology Annual Development Research Report (2024 Edition)," which focuses on advancements in liquid cooling. As a commission member of the Data Center Cooling Working Group of the Chinese Association of Refrigeration, Prof. Wu Wei played a key role as both a contributor and presenter of the report. The comprehensive report covers the latest progress, applications, and best practices in data center cooling, offering technical guidance for academic research, industrial innovation, engineering projects, and policy development. Its aim is to advance data center decarbonization and support AI sustainability.

The Summit Forum featured three sub-forums: "Liquid Cooling Technology," "Energy Saving Technology," and "Energy Storage and Comprehensive Energy Utilization Technology." Prof. Wu was invited to organize and chair the third sub-forum, which explored cutting-edge strategies for energy storage and integrated energy utilization.

Both the Summit Forum and the Annual Report are poised to drive independent innovation and foster high-quality development in China's data center cooling industry. Prof. Wu's contributions underscore his commitment to advancing sustainable and efficient cooling technologies for the future.
