Prof. Zhiguo Yuan Delivered Expert Talk at Career Day for High School Students
The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) was honored to be invited to deliver an expert talk at a recent Career Day event hosted by Stamford American School Hong Kong, where our faculty engaged with high school students, inspiring them to explore careers in science and engineering.
Prof. Zhiguo Yuan AM, Chair Professor of Urban Water Management and a distinguished expert in environmental biotechnology, led the session with an insightful talk, titled “Earth, Water, You and Me”. He shared his journey in urban water management, emphasizing the importance of scientific innovation in addressing environmental issues. Prof. Yuan highlighted the critical role of water sustainability and how technological advancements can help mitigate global water challenges.
To provide students with hands-on learning experience, Prof. Yuan invited his PhD student to demonstrate a simple UV disinfection device designed for families in underdeveloped regions. This innovative device showcased how science and technology can be leveraged to improve public health and sustainability worldwide.
