SEE and CLP Power Celebrate Seven Years of Undergraduate Energy Audit Training
Since 2018, the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at CityUHK has partnered with CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) to provide undergraduate students with practical training in energy audits. Now in its seventh year, this longstanding collaboration continues to deliver valuable hands-on experience in energy engineering.
Led by Ir Tony Chan, Business Development Manager at CLP Power, since the program’s inception, the initiative bridges academic learning with real-world industry practice through a blend of technical seminars and guided site visits. Students gain first-hand experience conducting energy audits while exploring a wide range of energy-saving technologies in real-life settings.
On 10 April 2025, with the support of CityUHK’s Facilities Management Office and CLP Power, students participated in a site visit across several campus facilities to observe sustainable energy systems in operation. During the tour, experienced staff shared insights into the university’s energy efficiency strategies and explained the underlying engineering principles behind their implementation.
This annual training not only deepens students’ technical knowledge but also equips them with practical skills essential for future careers in the energy sector. The enduring partnership between SEE and CLP continues to play a vital role in enhancing experiential learning opportunities for SEE students.
