The Award Ceremony organized by Hong Kong SDG Hub was held on 24 September 2022. On the day, the team received the 120,000 HKD cheque, and also showcased their winning project as the facilitator of the green building marketplace, which engaged a lot of young entrepreneurs as well as senior industry leaders to communicate and exchange ideas on their start-ups and projects regarding climate change.
About their winning project
The team proposed an intelligent thermo-responsive window for building thermal management and energy-saving. This window features the reversible colour change in response to temperature without the need of extra electricity and operation, which brings about outstanding solar modulation ability, demonstrating promising thermo-regulating and energy-saving performance. It is expected that the widespread application of the proposed window could bring about 10% of building energy saving in Hong Kong, aiding in sustainable development and mitigating climate change.
