To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), the Counselling Service of Student Development Services organised "Radiating 30 Years of Caring" from 7 to 10 January 2025.
This event commemorated a 30-year journey of the Peer Counsellor Training Programme at CityUHK. It not only honoured the rich history of this remarkable initiative but also reaffirmed CityUHK’s commitment to fostering civic responsibility and altruism among its students.
The Peer Counsellor Training Programme has been a cornerstone of our service-learning initiatives for three decades. It embodies the spirit of CityUHK, where we strive to cultivate compassionate leaders who possess both academic knowledge and a genuine desire to serve our community. This programme has transformed the lives of countless students, empowering them to become peer mentors, active listeners, and advocates of mental wellness for their fellow students. Over the past 30 years, hundreds of Peer Counsellors have been trained, to foster care, compassion, and connection across the campus.
The event featured a series of engaging activities for the CityUHK community, including a retrospective exhibition, a DIY good luck bracelet workshop, souvenir giveaways, and a gala dinner.
