This month's first SPECIAL Hall Night talk featured an enigmatic speaker – Professor Simon SHEN, an International Relations Scholar in Hong Kong and Former Coordinator of the International Affairs Research Centre of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The talk was extremely interactive with Professor SHEN grabbing the attention of the audience and not letting go. He talked about how Hong Kong is the bridge between China and the rest of the world. A great question asked from the audience was, "How can Hong Kong sustain its position in the coming years?"
Professor SHEN made his views on how Hong Kong will be identified in the future by talking about key historical, economic and political points. From the handover of Hong Kong to China, to comparing Hong Kong's economy to that of China's.
Overall, the talk was insightful with Professor SHEN's strategic comments on Hong Kong's future. He encouraged the audience to have a positive outlook on Hong Kong.
