25 CityU students proudly presented the sixth CityU Musical production, West Side Story, a classic Broadway masterpiece at the CityU Arts Festival 2021/22. Their excellent performance had drawn full house for all three consecutive shows, from 15 to 17 October 2021. Audiences enjoyed and were fascinated by this heart-weld love tragedy filled with lively dance and famous musical numbers.

As a challenging production required distinct acting, singing, and dancing techniques, CityU cast members equipped themselves with countless intensive training sessions around the clock to perfect the show. Members reinterpreted the poignant story of how a pair of star-crossed lovers from two rival gangs overcame all the family and social dissent. It engaged audiences to reflect on the meaning of love and the importance of social inclusion.
