The Annual Performance of the CityU Philharmonic Orchestra (CityU PO) was held successfully with the lead of conductor Mr. CHIU Kai Keung and guest performer, lyrical leggero soprano Dr. Michelle TSUI at Tsuen Wan Town Hall on 3 April 2024.
Through a year of practice, CityU PO performed a series of challenging recitals, including "Four Dances from Estancia, op.8a", "Bachianas Brasileiras no. 5, I. Cantilena", and an hour-long masterpiece, "Symphony no. 4 in G" by the Austrian composer Gustav Mahler.
7 Executive Committee members, 20 student helpers and over 70 Orchestra members devoted wholeheartedly to the performance for over 630 audiences, bringing an unforgettable night for all the participants.
The concert marked the end of the Orchestra's 2023/24 season. Thank you again for the audience's support and the Orchestra members' dedication and hard work!
