The fifth show of the CityU Arts Festival 2022/23, "CityU Chinese Orchestra: Dung Caang Dung Caang (Drum Sticks)", was held on 12 November, drawing a full house of audience!
The concert started with the performance of "Prelude for Chinese Percussion" by Mr. Angus FU and his members. The loud and clear sounds of gongs and drums heated the concert. After that, Chinese songs were presented, including "The Crested Myna Washing" and "One Hundred Years of Solitude''. The team fully utilised different instruments, such as big and small drums, cymbals, gongs, etc., demonstrating the diversity of percussion music.
CityU Chinese Orchestra brought impressive performances with "The Triumphant Song of Fishermen", "Capriccio Taiwan", etc. It was the first time for the team to cooperate with Mr. Angus FU and members. The collective performance of "Drums in Celebration of a Bumper Harvest" created a lot of sparks!
Towards the show's end, both teams performed the encore song, "Dancing of the Golden Snake", together. The solo performance by Angus won a round of applause, summarising this unforgettable evening!
