Being the fifth CityU Musical production, 23 CityU students successfully performed RENT, a Broadway musical that won both the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award. With six months of intensive training to equip the cast and countless rehearsals to perfect the show, student performers reinterpreted the story of how a group of young people chases their dreams and how they fall in love under the shadow of diseases and poverty.
Audiences enjoyed this touching story filled with lively dance and famous musical numbers. The excellent performance drew a full house for all sessions of shows!
The three sessions of shows were smoothly organised in compliance with the social distancing arrangement. Every performer took the Covid-19 test within 72 hours prior to the performance on stage and obtained a negative testing report to ensure safety.
