The Bicultural Self Symposium, co-organized by the Department of Applied Social Studies of the City University of Hong Kong and the Department of Psychology of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaigne, took place 16-17 August, 2004.

An exhibition by acclaimed Spanish contemporary artist, Josep Vernis, will be held 9 to 19 October at the CityU Art Gallery. 城大與美國休斯敦大學制訂了交換生協議。去年年初，應用社會科學系兩名社工課程三年級學生熊冬玲及黎鳳儀被送派赴美交流。由於該校沒有開辦社工學士課程，兩人遂「跳級」修讀碩士課程。留學期間，兩人的學術表現超卓，熊冬玲同學取得4.0分平均積點的驕人成績，黎鳳儀同學也拿到3.89分的優異成績。
百多位來自世界各地的與會者於7月10日齊聚城大惠卿劇院，參加第八屆語言及社會心理學國際會議的開幕儀式。
