WANG Zhenzhong was born in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. He was admitted to the Department of History of Fudan University in 1982, then entered the Institute of Chinese Historical Geography and received his PhD in 1992. Since 1998, he has been a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Institute of Historical Geography, and once being the deputy director of the Institute of Historical Geography of Fudan University.
WANG has published impactful papers in journals such as The Social Sciences in China, Chinese Social Science, The Historical Research, and The Chinese History Research. Some of his publications have won national awards, and he is an important and influential scholar in domestic academic circles.
