Professor Denver Li, Assistant Professor from the Department of Physics, has been honoured with this year’s Chen Ning Yang Award (C. N. Yang Award) for his groundbreaking discovery and synthesis of the first nickel oxide superconductors.
Five CityU young academics have been awarded the Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Hong Kong and Macau) by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) for 2023, three of which are from the College of Science.
Dr. Denver Li and Dr. Junzhang Ma, Assistant Professors of the Department of Physics, have been awarded the Collaborative Research Equipment Grant, under the Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) 2022/23.
The College of Science is proud to announce that 10 scientists have been listed as Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers 2022.

The College of Science congratulates Professor Alain Aspect on winning the Nobel Prize in Physics 2022 with John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger, “for experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science”.
