New Archeological Finds of the 20th Century
ZHANG Guangda graduated from the Department of History, Peking University in 1953. He served as teaching assistant, lecturer, associate professor and professor at the Department of History until his retirement in 1989. During his working period, ZHANG has been invited to visit and teach at different academic institutions in Netherlands, Japan, Taiwan, France, and the United States.
ZHANG’s main research areas cover: Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties and the Sogdians in Central Asia before the Arab conquest in the Western Regions; Dunhuang Chinese Manichaeus manuscripts; cultural exchanges between China, Iran and West Asia from the Southern and Northern Dynasties to the Mongolian and Yuan Dynasties.
