Recognising the interconnectedness of human and animal health, CityUHK adopts and promotes the “One
Health” approach to design measures to safeguard public health and to respond to this global challenge.
Under the One Health paradigm, Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (“JCC”) was
established to create a centre of excellence in veterinary and biomedical education and research. A
Compassion Fund For Animals has also been established to support initiatives led by JCC and increase
public awareness of animal health and welfare. Key projects supported include the Veterinary Community
Outreach Programme, CityU Farm, and nurturing vet professionals through scholarships and Extra-Mural
Studies funding.
