Fast and sensitive real-time photonic PCR assisted by plasmonic magnetic nanoparticles
Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is widely regarded as the most reliable and accurate technology for detection and diagnosis, often referred to as the gold standard. There is an urgent clinicl neel for a fast, cost-effective PCR-based assay technique for early diagnosis. However, most PCR-based assays to date rely on costly and time-consuming Peltier block heating technology. We offer a novel plasmonic photothermal (PPT) PCR method, based on multifunctional plasmonic magnetic nanoparticles composed of a Fe3O4 magnetic core and Au plasmonic shell to replace bulky, costly and time-consuming PCR devices for fast and sensitive quantification.
