Fully packaged, high speed, thin-film lithium niobate electro-optic modulator

 

Thin-film lithium niobate materials have unique advantages in the manufacture of small, high-performance modulation chips.

The aim of this project is to produce a small, high-performance, electro-optic modulator using chip-manufacturing technology, and propose a new packaging scheme for a miniaturised, thin-film, lithium niobate electro-optic modulator. It has lower optical insertion loss while the modulator device size is reduced. It also has a larger 3dB bandwidth and smaller half-wave voltage.
