Ms Halina Poon Suk-han, Principal of Christian & Missionary Alliance Sun Kei Secondary School, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of HKSAR as a member of the Council at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) with effect from 1 June 2016 to 31 May 2019.

Ms Poon has more than 20 years of experience in educational administration and management. Enthusiastic in providing training to principals and teachers, she has expertise in enhancing efficiency in school administration, motivating staff and improving students’ learning outcomes.

Ms Poon actively takes part in social affairs and community services. She is currently a member of the Steering Committee of the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence and the Pilot Project on Strengthening Schools’ Administration Management under the Education Bureau. She is also a member of the Advisory Committee on the Education Development Fund for the Education Bureau and the Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee of Hong Kong Subsidized Secondary Schools Council.

She was awarded the Medal of Honour by HKSAR Government in 2007 in recognition of her enthusiastic participation in educational and social affairs. She was also commended by the Committee on Respect Our Teachers Campaign in 1997 and 1998.
