City University of Hong Kong (CityU) launched CityU Milk in May, which has been keenly sought after by staff and students. In order to allow the local community to taste the fresh milk produced locally by CityU Farm, CityU distributed milk to 300 students in Shamshuipo Kaifong Welfare Association Primary School at lunchtime today (19 October) to share the deliciousness of CityU Milk with the students and provide them with a nutritious addition to their lunch.

The milk distribution was arranged by Ms Grace Yu Ho-wun, CityU Court member, and the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) at CityU. A total of 500 cartons of CityU Milk were delivered to the primary school.

Mr Paul Wong Yan-yin, District Officer (Sham Shui Po), showed support for primary students at the milk distribution activity. He mentioned that CityU has a close relationship with Sham Shui Po and thanked the University for sharing the milk with the school. He also encouraged the students to study hard and consider being a veterinarian in the future.

Professor Vanessa Barrs, Dean of JCC, explained to the students that CityU Milk is produced by Jersey cows imported from Australia at CityU Farm and said she hoped they would enjoy the fresh creamy milk. She also encouraged the students to study at CityU in the future and pursue their dreams.

CityU is the first university in Hong Kong to introduce and practice the pioneering concept of One Health. It will continue to connect with local communities through various activities and pioneer excellence in veterinary education and life sciences research in Hong Kong, Asia and the world, focusing on public health, food safety, animal welfare and aquatic animal health for the well-being of society.
