The festive season is just around the corner. Faculty and students of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) have set up three Christmas trees, including two distinctive eco-friendly ones, on the campus for the CityU community to share their heartfelt greetings and words of encouragement, embracing the winter season together.

A group of CityU students crafted two Christmas trees from upcycled waste paper, demonstrating a creative approach to sustainability, as well as influencing positive environmental behaviour in the CityU community. Students are invited to share their thoughts and feelings by writing messages on festive-themed cards and hanging them on the trees.

The initiative goes beyond mere celebration. It also aims to foster a supportive community that bolsters students' mental wellness and alleviates their stress during the examination period.

Participating in the activity were Professor Henry Chung Shu-hung, Dean of Students, Professor Steven Wang, Associate Vice-President (Resources Planning), and the Mental Health Group of CityU, comprising department heads and staff from various offices.

Professor Chung said that CityU attaches great importance to the well-being of students. The University hopes to cheer up students through this simple but meaningful activity, and remind them there are many positive ways to manage and mitigate stress.
