The “CityUHK Alumni Homecoming” featured an array of events including some 40 activities for alumni to reconnect and learn about the latest development of the University, under the theme of “Connected, We Grow”. Some events, specially organised by the Colleges, Schools, Departments and alumni groups include workshops on AI, robotics, and coding, as well as business seminars and campus tours to inspire alumni.  Live performances and movie screenings showcased the innovative spirit of CityUHK, while seminars, and alumni reunions provided opportunities for alumni to get updates from Deans and faculty members, thereby fostering stronger connections.

Highlight of the programme include the Opening Ceremony led by Professor Freddy Boey, President of CityUHK, along with the University management team and alumni representatives. In his speech, President Boey expressed alumni are University’s family for life, and his gratitude to the alumni for their ongoing support. CityUHK would continue to thrive to make alumni feel proud of their alma mater. President Boey highlighted that this year marks the 30th Anniversary of CityUHK. In line with the anniversary theme of “Innovating into the Future”, CityUHK will continue its commitment to nurturing talent through innovation. He also highlighted the fruitful collaboration between CityUHK and globally renowned institutions, including the recent launch of the first university-wide scholarship programme in Hong Kong in partnership with Lucy Cavendish College at the University of Cambridge.

The event also included family-friendly activities that were particularly popular among children.

Two dedicated mobile games, “Time Travel to CityUHK” and “CLASS-room”, were prepared by College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences for alumni to enjoy an interactive experience on campus.

To add excitement to the celebration, Alumni Relations Office launched a charity sale of CityUHK Alumni T-shirts. Alumni could support CityUHK students’ physical and mental wellness while taking home this meaningful souvenir.
