University of Jinan delegation visits CityUHK

A delegation from the University of Jinan visited City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) on 24 April to strengthen the partnership between the two institutions and explore opportunities for collaboration in the social sciences, physical sciences and technology fields.
The delegation, led by Professor Liu Zongming, President of the University of Jinan, received a warm welcome from senior management at CityUHK, including Mr Michael Ngai, Council Chairman; Professor Freddy Boey, President and University Distinguished Professor; Professor Li Wen Jung, Vice-President (Talent and International Strategy); Professor Jennifer Lin Fen, Associate Vice-President (Global Strategy); Professor Alfred Ho Tat-kei, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; Professor Lin Feng, Dean of the School of Law; Professor Zhang Ruiqin, Chair Professor of the Department of Physics, and Mr Carl Tang, Associate Director of Global Engagement Office.

Mr Ngai emphasised the strong foundation of collaboration between CityUHK and the University of Jinan. He expressed optimism about combining CityUHK’s strengths with Jinan University’s rich academic heritage to further solidify their partnership, maximise their respective advantages, and jointly promote talent nurturing and research cooperation in higher education to make an even greater contribution to the development of the country.
President Boey expressed his gratitude for the delegation’s visit, after which Professor Li introduced CityUHK’s latest developments and achievements in innovation and research. Professor Liu commended CityUHK for its exceptional achievements as a young university, emphasising its impressive global presence and remarkable accomplishments on the international stage.
The two institutions engaged in in-depth discussions about the social sciences, physical sciences and technology disciplines, exchanging insights and learning from each other’s experience. The delegation also took the opportunity to explore CityUHK’s experience in alumni affairs and faculty development.
