This year is the 10th anniversary of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, a landmark for empowering women and girls. CityUHK is proud to support the movement towards gender equality in science and technology and to bridge the gender gap by inspiring girls in schools and supporting women in their science studies.

CityUHK and EPFL announced the establishment of the Institute for Materials Innovation on 11 February. Several MoUs were signed with industry partners to co-develop a premier institute dedicated to advancing research in cutting-edge areas of materials science.

Over 750 runners from CityUHK participated in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2025 on 9 February. Among them were 12 Inclusion Run teams, formed by CityUHK runners partnering with students with special educational needs. Together, they demonstrated the spirit of social inclusion.

CityUHK's ranking in the THE World University Rankings 2025, announced last October, was recently adjusted, climbing to a record 78th from the original 80th position. CityUHK also excelled in the latest 2025 THE World University Rankings by Subject, with seven subjects breaking into the world’s top 100 and two of them ranked in the world’s top 50.
