CityU School of Creative Media Graduation Show Medialogue: Metamorphoses
Students from the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) are hosting Medialogue: Metamorphoses, an exhibition of 48 original works by graduating students from the School’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative Media, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Creative Media and Associate of Arts in Media Technology. The exhibition is open to the public and runs from today to 2 July on campus.
The opening ceremony was held on 24 June and officiated by Ms Ada Wong Ying-kay JP, Chair of Wanchai District Council, and Professor James Moy, Dean of the School.
CityU is committed to nurturing cutting-edge creative media experts, according to Professor Moy. “SCM emphasizes learning through small classes in order to fully equip our students with the capacity to integrate theory, practice, technology and the arts,” he said.
Ms Wong said she supported the development of Hong Kong’s creative media industry, and she offered words of encouragement to the School’s graduates. “Creativity is more than simply skill and technique. We should learn to be more creative through observation and thought, while experience adds value,” Ms Wong said.
The main theme behind Medialogue: Metamorphoses, being held in the Multi-purpose Room of the Amenities Building at CityU, is to visualize the process of student learning, thinking, working, growing and sharing. Visitors to the exhibition will be enveloped in a maze of creativity woven by contemporary media technologies such as multiple-angle projections, interactive mixed-media installations, automated digital artwork, state-of-the-art photography, animation, and narrative and experimental video.
Medialogue: Metamorphoses will also be on display from 15 to 23 July at the Sun Arcade in Tsimshatsui, Kowloon.
