Congratulations to Miss Wen Di CHAN who won the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) Young Persons’ Lecture Competition (Hong Kong Heat) 2020! Graduate of BEng in Materials Engineering 2019 and currently an RA and PhD student of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Miss Chan will be representing Hong Kong SAR to participate in the World Final in November 2020. 

OM3 has been organising a local heat of the Young Persons’ Lecture Competition (YPLC) since 2005, with the winner of the local heat going to the world final. The final of the competition was held in London in October last year. This year, due to the epidemic and the new format of events and gatherings, the competition is going to be held online in November 2020.
