

The Inauguration Ceremony of the Fourth Steering Committee of the CityUHK Industrial and Business Leaders Circle (Leaders Circle) was held on 31 March.
The Leaders Circle, established in 2016, aims at strengthening University-industry collaboration and experience sharing, as well as soliciting resources for the University’s advancement.
Jointly organized by CityUHK Industrial and Business Leaders Circle and Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association, the visit to CityUHK State Key Laboratory of Terahertz and Millimeter Waves was successfully held on 1 September.
During the visit, Professor Chan Chi-hou, Director of State Key Laboratory of Terahertz and Millimeter Waves and Chair Professor of Electronic Engineering briefly presented the University’s latest research achievements on communications technologies, the development of the new generation of information industry, and the design of antennas using different frequencies in wireless communications. Thereafter, Professor Chan and Dr Wong Hang, Deputy Director of the Laboratory and Associate Professor of Department of Electrical Engineering accompanied the guests to see the core facilities of the Laboratory. They explained how university research could be converted into practical applications for the industry.
The Inauguration Ceremony of the Third Steering Committee of the Leaders Circle was successfully held on 4 May. Established in 2016 and celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, the Leaders Circle strives to strengthen communication and collaboration between CityUHK and industry and business leaders, and solicit support for University’s long-term development. The ceremony was officiated by Professor Matthew Lee Kwok-on, Vice-President (Development and External Relations), on behalf of President Way Kuo; and Dr Daniel Yip Chung-yin, Convenor of the Third Steering Committee. They were joined by Mr Anthony Lam Sai-ho, Mr Eric Chow Yik-cheung, Mr Kyran Sze, Mr Douglas Chan Lap-tak, Mr Winfred Chan Hon-pun, Mr Benjamin Kwok Chan-yiu, Mr Steve Chuang Tzu-hsiung, and Mr Lau Tat-chuen, all of whom are Steering Committee members, to launch the inauguration ceremony.
