Five CityU young academics have been awarded the Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Hong Kong and Macau) by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) for 2023, three of which are from the College of Science.
Professor Alex Jen, Lee Shau Kee Chair Professor in Materials Science and also the Director of Hong Kong Institute for Clean Energy, has been appointed as a member of the "Green Technology and Finance Development Committee", under the chairmanship of the Financial Secretary Mr. Paul Chan.
The research paper entitled “Pharmaceutical Pollution of the World’s Rivers” published in The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) in February 2022 has been awarded the 2022 Cozzarelli Prize in the Class VI: Applied Biological, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.
After a rigorous selection process, two outstanding faculty members were selected for the College of Science Awards 2022-23. The awards are presented by Professor Chun-Sing Lee, Dean of CSCI, on the College Commencement 2023.
Faculty members from the College of Science shone at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva (IEIG) held from 26 to 30 April. Our researchers garnered two Gold Medals with Congratulations of the Jury, as well as a Special Prize and four Gold Medals.
Professor Kenneth Lo, Professor of Department of Chemistry and Director of the Talent and Education Development Office, who won the College Teaching Excellence Award last year, has just received the University’s Teaching Excellence Awards (TEAs) for “A Good Teacher is Like a Catalyst That Assists in Transforming Students into Self-Motivated Lifelong Learners”.
