This year's CityU Information Day was successfully held on 22 October 2022 in hybrid mode, attracting more than 10,000 visitors on campus and even more joining online. The College of Science (CSCI) has prepared a series of activities, including online and on-campus talks on admission and development opportunities, as well as lab tours, with the participation of our faculty members, alumni and students.
In collaboration with Tseung Kwan O Government Secondary School (TKOGSS), 10 students from the College of Science served as ‘student teachers’ and gained hands-on teaching experience in a real classroom setting on 12 October 2022.
Congratulations to the three recipients of the CityU Outstanding Research Award 2022 from the College of Science! The Awards will be presented at the coming College Commencement.
The College of Science congratulates Professor Alain Aspect on winning the Nobel Prize in Physics 2022 with John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger, “for experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science”.
Co-organized by the Provost Office and the College of Science, the CityU Science Patent Challenge 2022 has received positive responses from 24 secondary schools. More than 30 secondary school teachers and students from these schools attended an entrepreneurship and intellectual property workshop of the CityU Science Patent Challenge on 8 October 2022.
A Welcome Gathering for the second cohort of the Global Research Enrichment and Technopreneurship (GREAT) students was held on 15 September 2022.
